FAQ

Questions, answered

Everything people usually ask before their first booking.

How is this different from a boarding kennel?

Your pet never leaves home. Instead of a cage in a busy facility, your dog or cat stays in its own space on its own routine, and I come to it 2 to 3 times a day. A Fredericton kennel runs about $32 to $61 a night; my in-home rates land in the same range.

What happens during a visit?

Every visit is about 30 minutes: fresh food and water, potty breaks or litter, play and cuddles, a quick check that the home is fine, and a photo update sent to you. Dogs get yard or leash time; cats get as much or as little attention as they want.

Do you do overnight stays?

Yes, when it is planned well in advance. For pets that should not be alone at night, I stay over in your home, roughly 10 to 12 hours, and handle evening and morning care. Because it takes a full night, overnight dates are limited, so book early.

Can you give medication?

Yes. Pills, drops, and topicals are given exactly as your vet directs, for a small add-on per visit. If your pet needs injectables, mention it and we will talk it through at the meet and greet.

What about litter boxes, walks, grooming, or training?

Routine litter scooping is included in every cat visit. A full litter change and scrub, an extra dog walk, a bath and brush, or a training refresh are all available as add-ons. You only pay for the extras you actually want.

How do keys and home security work?

We sort this out at the meet and greet, whatever you are comfortable with: a key, a lockbox, or a garage or door code. I treat your home and your privacy with care, and I bring in mail, adjust lights, and keep the place looking lived-in while you are away.

Do you charge full price for a second pet?

No. A second pet in the same home is a small add-on, not another full fee. Tell me about your whole crew and I will give you one clear price.

Which areas do you serve?

Fredericton and surrounding communities, including New Maryland, Hanwell, Nashwaaksis, Marysville, Devon, Oromocto, and more. If you are close to Fredericton and not sure, just ask.

Can I meet you before I book?

Please do. The free meet and greet is where I learn your pet and its routine, and you get to ask everything and see if we are a fit. Your pet gets a vote too.
